Donate for SNMC $1 per day or $30 per month per family member

Dear SNMC Patrons,

Now we have the opportunity to donate for masjid maintenance. Please sign up for automated debit or credit card deductions for only $1 per day per family member.

Please donate online at www.SNMC.ca by PayPal, MC or visa $1,000, or $500 or $250 or $100. It is our masjid, our legacy. You can pay online, by credit card or by pledge form at www.snmc.ca

Let us remember charity does not decrease wealth. Also, Allah (swt) will return 10 times every dollar we donate in this life and many folds in the life hereafter. May Allah (swt) accept our effort, time, and money. We will be successful if Allah (swt) accepts our efforts.

Let us seek His forgiveness and pray for His acceptance of our efforts.

SNMC Spiritual: Friday Prayer (Jumah Salah) and Parking Issues

Friday Prayer (Jumah Salah) and Parking Issues

In highlighting the importance of Friday (Juma), Allah SWT revealed a surah in the Quran, al-Jumu’ah, the day of Gathering. He shortened 4 Rakah Zuhr salah to 2 Rakah on Friday.

Listening to Jumah Khutbah is part of the prayer. Also, when a person enters for Jumah salah, an angel puts his/her name in a registered book, but as soon as Khateeb starts khutbah, they close the book and start listening.

The City of Ottawa By-Law Officers visited SNMC to educate the congregation on how to park properly around the SNMC masjid on Friday last week. They also issued warning tickets during the last two Fridays. The officers will start issuing parking tickets for offenses violating parking bylaws starting Friday.

Please let us plan for Jumah early and do not get our good deeds reduced by parking improperly in front of neighbours’ homes or on roadsides blocking driveways. Let’s show members of our community that Muslims are polite and courteous.
