In Surah Yaseen, Verses 36.38 to 36.40, Allah swt describes the orbit of sun and moon and in other places of the Quran.
In Verse, 36:38, He talks about the sun,
وَٱلشَّمْسُ تَجْرِى لِمُسْتَقَرٍّۢ لَّهَا ۚ ذَٰلِكَ تَقْدِيرُ ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلْعَلِيمِ ٣٨
The sun travels for its fixed term. That is the design of the Almighty, All-Knowing.

In 36:39, He talsk about the moon
وَٱلْقَمَرَ قَدَّرْنَـٰهُ مَنَازِلَ حَتَّىٰ عَادَ كَٱلْعُرْجُونِ ٱلْقَدِيمِ ٣٩
As for the moon, We have ordained ˹precise˺ phases for it, until it ends up ˹looking˺ like an old, curved palm stalk.
In Surah Yaseen, verse 36:40, talks about both sun and moon and day and night.
لَا ٱلشَّمْسُ يَنۢبَغِى لَهَآ أَن تُدْرِكَ ٱلْقَمَرَ وَلَا ٱلَّيْلُ سَابِقُ ٱلنَّهَارِ ۚ وَكُلٌّۭ فِى فَلَكٍۢ يَسْبَحُونَ ٤٠
It is not for the sun to catch up with the moon, nor does the night outrun the day. Each is travelling in an orbit of their own.

Here are 3 verses in the Quran in surah Yaseen, Allah SWT has a fixed orbit or rotation of sun and moon in its own cycle. One cannot catch the other.
Solar eclipse the moon blocks the face of sun and earth becomes dark like night for a short time for a few minutes in a particular location.
Solar eclipse happens every 18 months. The April 8 solar eclipse in Canada is clearly visible in Niagara and Kingston but it covers 12+ states in the USA.
Why is the April 8 eclipse unique?
Because it covers more land mass, as most of the eclipse falls on the ocean as water areas are bigger.
It is a sign of God, and we need to ponder and be thankful to Him.
