Day 262: Winter is the Believer’s Best Season
‘Amir ibn Mas’ud (r) narrated that the Prophet (S) said: “Fasting in the winter is the easy reward.”
عَنْ عَامِرِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ
الْغَنِيمَةُ الْبَارِدَةُ الصَّوْمُ فِي الشِّتَاءِ

Transliteration: “Al Ghanimatul Baridatu As Sawmu fish Shita’i.”
The early generations of Muslims welcomed the Winter as being their best season for getting closer to the Creator!

Day 261: Khusuf or Kusuf Prayer (the Sun and the Moon Eclipse Prayer)
It was narrated by ‘Aisha (r) that the Prophet (S) said, after finishing the Khusuf prayer: “The sun and the moon are two signs of the numerous signs of Allah. They do not eclipse as the sign of death or life (birth) of anyone. So, when you see the eclipse, make du’a to Allah, say Takbir, offer Prayer (Salat al Khusuf) and give Sadaqa.” (Bukhari, Muslim)
إِنَّ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ آيَتَانِ مِنْ آيَاتِ اللَّهِ، لاَ يَنْخَسِفَانِ لِمَوْتِ أَحَدٍ وَلاَ لِحَيَاتِهِ، فَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمْ ذَلِكَ فَادْعُوا اللَّهَ وَكَبِّرُوا، وَصَلُّوا وَتَصَدَّقُوا

Let us see what Allah swt declares in surah al infetaar
82:10 وَإِنَّ عَلَيْكُمْ لَحَـٰفِظِينَ
while you are certainly observed by vigilant,
82:11 كِرَامًا كَـٰتِبِينَ
honourable angels, recording ˹everything˺.
82:12 يَعْلَمُونَ مَا تَفْعَلُونَ
They know whatever you do.

Day 259: Muhammad (S) practiced Mercy to All!
Abu Salih (r) narrated that the Prophet (S) addressed the people saying: ٌ“O people, I am only a mercy and a guide.”
يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنَّمَا أَنَا رَحْمَةٌ مُهْدَاة

So, what did really the Messenger (S) mean with this statement in a practical sense?

Have we thought of how adults breathe12-16 times per minute to inhale oxygen and exhale carbon dioxide to survive? Adults above 60 breathe up to 28 times per minute.
Breathing to essential to our life. It allows our body to obtain the energy to perform it activities.
If we go to the hospital we will see many people are taken care of by respiratory therapists. We will also see various types of oxygen machines which assist in breathing and help us survive as a human being.

Day 258: Muhammad (S): The Prophet of Mercy
Narrated by Abu Musa Al Ash’ari (r) that Allah’s Messenger (S) mentioned many names of his and said: “I am Muhammad, I am Ahmad. Muqaffi (the last in succession), Hashir (gatherer), the Prophet of repentance, and the Prophet of Mercy.”
عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى الأَشْعَرِيِّ، قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يُسَمِّي لَنَا نَفْسَهُ أَسْمَاءً فَقَالَ “ أَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ وَأَحْمَدُ وَالْمُقَفِّي وَالْحَاشِرُ وَنَبِيُّ التَّوْبَةِ وَنَبِيُّ الرَّحْمَةِ ”
