With great sadness we are conveying the sad news that Hafeez Khan, father of Mona Khan, passed passed away yesterday January 22, in Ottawa . May his soul rest in peace and may the Almighty God forgive all his shortcomings and sins and grant him Paradise. Ameen.
“Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi rajioon.” Quraan 2:156. “To God we belong and to Him is our return.”
He passed peacfully and leaves behind daughters, Mona Khan, Razia Siddiqui and Shama Ahmed, Son-in-law Khalid Rehman and a lot of friends, family members, few sons, daughters and grand children
The Janazah prayers will be held at the SNMC Centre and Masjid on 3020 Woodroffe Avenue after Zuhr prayers on Wednesday January 24/2018
Burial will take place at Ottawa Muslim Cemetary ,1668 Manotick Station Rd, Greely, ON K4P 1M9 and please join.
May Allah SWT accord him highest place in Jannat ul Firdaus and give Sabr Jameel to the family Ameen.

Born and raised in Toronto, Imam Mazhar Patel studied the Sciences of Al-Quran under the tutelage of his late Father, Qari Mahmood Patel. He memorized the Quran and mastered various forms of recitations. In 2012, Imam Mazhar earned Honours Master’s Degree from Darul Uloom Zakariyya, South Africa. He is the Director of Religious Affairs at the Lac La Biche Muslim Association (The second Masjid to be established in Canada) and is a writer at the prestigious Mathabah Institute, Toronto. He is also an Arabic Language instructor for the Northern Lights School Division (NLSD), Alberta. He is an active member of the interfaith community, lectures at conferences, seminars and universities in and out of North America. He also makes appearances in the Media.
